Jaguar Land Rover drive their Royal Heritage cars down the Mall to celebrate the Coronation Festival
Remarkably, considering 2012 was the 60th anniversary of the Queen coming to the throne and the celebratory events we had, we’ve heard very little about the 60th anniversary of the coronation. In fact, we’ve already passed the diamond anniversary of the Queen’s coronation (on 2nd June) without any huge fanfare but, for some reason, we have a ‘Coronation Festival’ from 11-17th July to celebrate the ‘Best of British’. But it seems Jaguar Land Rover couldn’t wait for the event to start properly, so they’ve jumped the gun and gone parading a selection of Jaguars and Land Rovers with Royal connections round London this weekend.
Ford is recalling 128,616 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans for faulty wheel lugs. The recall affects cars from the 2010 and 2011 model years that have steel wheels. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says vibration in the studs can cause them to crack or break, possibly resulting in the wheel falling off.

As we reported a few days ago, the Renault Megane succeeded in achieving the joint highest ever score in the Euro NCAP tests. But as we noted then, this was the last bunch of NCAP tests under the existing regulations, and all changes from the New Year. As an introduction to the new tests, NCAP has just released test figures for whiplash testing on a group of 25 cars recently tested, and the results are rather enlightening.
